(We refer to our classes as Aerial Silks, this is also known as Aerial Fabric, Tissu, Aerial Tissue) Aerial Silks is a beautiful blend of acrobatics and performance. Our classes will teach you to climb the suspended silk fabrics to swing, spiral, and float through the air in a safe setting with experienced instructors. Join us as and experiment in a new freedom, leaving the ground behind and challenging your body and mind to move like never before!
If you have no prior experience with aerial fabrics, this class is for you. We recommend taking this class 3 – 5 times to get a full understanding of the fundamentals. Our 101 class is a great introduction to the fun world of aerial silks. This class begins with lessons on basic balance, climbing, and creating “locks” around your body with the fabric. After grasping these fundamentals, you will be comfortable joining beginner aerial fabric classes.
Silks Level 1 (Beginner):
Build stamina, strength and stability by working with fabric and your own body weight. Start with basic climbing and progress into various positions, inversions, drops and choreographed sequences. Students will be encouraged to find their own style and creativity.
Note: We encourage students to wear clothing that covers the backs of their knees and torso for all aerial classes, other than pole. This will help avoiding burns caused by friction with the fabric or hoop.
Silks Level 2 (Intermediate):
If you want to progress your skills with our Aerial Fabric, this is the class for you. Build stamina, strength and stability by working with fabric and your own body weight. Start with basic climbing and progress into various positions, inversions, drops and choreographed sequences. This class will begin to introduce doubles work.
Lyra (also known as Aerial Hoop, Aerial Ring or Cerceau) is a circular steel apparatus resembling a hula hoop suspended from the ceiling on which circus artists may perform aerial acrobatics. Aerial Hoop classes include a warm up, strength training, focusing on core and lower abs, conditioning tips, and stretching. Each student will learn at their own pace and level. You will learn various ways to mount and dismount the hoop. The variety of hangs, wraps, twists, mounts and transitions are absolutely endless, and will leave you feeling like you have done a full workout at the gym in a fun way. Students will progress on to harder and more advanced moves as your strength and confidence increase. You will be amazed at what you are actually capable of doing. These classes are extremely fun & addicting!!
Aerial Hoop is appropriate for all shapes and sizes. No previous experience is required. Minimum age is 8 years old. Men, Women and children welcome in this class!
